MALARIA CONTROL

Motire has several successful integrated malaria vector control programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. Effective and sustainable malaria control not only improves productivity and saves lives, but also helps to build good relations with the surrounding communities

We achieve effective malaria control as follows:

1) Audit of existing malaria control programs.
2) Malaria risk analysis and needs assessment.
3) Planning, design and implementation of integrated malaria and vector control programs at both a regional, workplace and community level.
4) Collection and analysis of relevant scientific baseline data to monitor program impacts; including
    a) Parasite prevalence surveys.
    b) Entomological surveys.
    c) Knowledge, attitude, practices and behaviour surveys.
    d) Provide technical expertise (personnel) and systems to support integrated malaria vector control programmes.
5) Provide integrated malaria and vector control training to build capacity and promote sustainable regional, workplace and community programs. Training in the following malaria control intervention methods is offered.
6) Advise on malaria information, education and communication campaigns and provide the relevant materials.
7) Review of medical services:
    a) Review malaria diagnostic and case management procedures.
    b) Review current awareness and education campaigns.
8) Recommend, source and supply of the following WHO approved products:
    a) Insecticide for indoor residual spraying.
    b) Long lasting insecticide treated bed nets
    c) Personal protection equipment (PPE) for malaria control spray operators.
    d) Rapid diagnostic test kits (RDT’s) for malaria diagnosis.
